1. Information we collect
We collect only what the service needs to work:
- Phone number — used to sign you in with a one-time code (OTP). We do not use passwords.
- First name (optional) — so Rahbar can address you.
- Onboarding answers — your goal, education level, field of study, budget range, preferred countries and timeline. These personalise your answers.
- Chat messages — the questions you type and the replies you receive.
- Voice messages — audio you choose to send. It is transcribed to text so Rahbar can answer; the audio is not kept as part of your profile after transcription.
- Basic technical data — app version, device type and error logs needed to keep the app working.
2. How we use it
We use your information to provide the Rahbar service: signing you in, personalising guidance to your profile, answering your questions, managing your message credits, keeping the app secure and improving it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your chats for advertising.
3. AI and service providers
To generate replies, transcribe voice messages and speak answers aloud, Rahbar sends the relevant content to trusted third-party providers under their business terms. Currently these are:
- Anthropic (Claude) — generates chat replies.
- OpenAI — converts your voice messages to text (speech-to-text).
- ElevenLabs and Microsoft Azure — turn replies into spoken audio (text-to-speech).
These providers process data to deliver the service to you and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising. We share only what is needed for the specific request. We may also use hosting, analytics and payment-processing services that handle data on our behalf.
4. Payments
Plans are one-time payments in Pakistani Rupees. Nothing auto-renews. Payments are handled by the app store or payment provider you choose to pay through; Rahbar does not store your card or bank details.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your account information and chat history for as long as your account is active so that Rahbar can remember your context. Transcribed voice audio is not retained as part of your profile. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations (for example payment records).
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls and OTP sign-in — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone and one-time codes private and tell us if you notice anything unusual.
7. Your choices and account deletion
You can update your onboarding answers inside the app at any time. You can request deletion of your Rahbar account and the personal data associated with it by emailing us from inside the app or from your registered contact details. We will confirm the request and delete your account and associated data as described in section 5.
Data-deletion requests: email support@rahbarapp.com with the subject “Delete my Rahbar account” and the phone number you signed in with.
8. Children
Rahbar is intended for users who are old enough to plan study, work or migration abroad. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service grows. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and, for significant changes, tell you inside the app.
